Welcome to Harry Marston - Local Independent

Hello - my name is Harry Marston, and I'm proud to stand to represent Bushbury North and Fordhouses in the May 2026 Local Elections.

As a lifelong resident of Wolverhampton, I’ve seen the true heart of our city — our diverse families, our local businesses, our tight-knit communities. But I’ve also seen the challenges that hold us back, and the people responsible for those challenges, and I’m ready to tackle them head-on with a vision that puts proud Wulfrunians first.

For too long, Labour’s grip on Wolverhampton has delivered nothing but complacency and broken promises. Under their watch, poverty has deepened, trapping too many families in hardship, putting more and more people out on our streets while those in Civic Hall vote to award themselves pay rises. Endless roadworks clog our streets, turning commutes into nightmares, stifling local businesses and turning our city centre into a ghost town. Labour’s inaction has left our schools underfunded, our youth services gutted, and an SEND crisis that shows no sign of ending.

Enough is, quite frankly, enough - Wolverhampton deserves better than this neglect.

Meanwhile, Reform’s toxic politics of division and racism have no place in our inclusive community. Wolverhampton has a proud history of celebrating people from all backgrounds, from all races and from any part of this planet, so long as they have put back into our city. Farage's racist strategy of scapegoating minorities ignores the systemic injustice imposed by the people in Civic Hall, in Downing Street and in the political system against the hard-working people of Wolverhampton and of this country.

In Wolverhampton, we celebrate diversity as our strength, and I’ll stand firm against any attempt to fracture our unity. We are one city because of our differences, not despite them.

We need to clean up our streets, but police are not the answer:  I’ll push for properly funded schools, and push to avoid temporary classrooms made out of shipping containers, so that every child has a proper education - I will also push for an increased in community centres, encouraging churches and other bodies that already in the community to hold more youth events that actually appeal to the younger generation.

We need to stop the charade that Wolverhampton is some kind of rural haven - this city has an abundance of unused land, and land that could be put to a much better use. This land needs to be used to alleviate the effects of the housing shortage on Wulfrunians - particularly young people - we should not be pushing young people out of our city, we should be encouraging them to stay.

I’m out in Bushbury North regularly, knocking on doors, listening to your concerns, and building a movement for change. Follow my journey on X [@harryxstuart], where I’m sharing updates on community events, local issues, and our plans to make 2026 a turning point for Wolverhampton. Together, we can reject Labour’s complacency, shut out Reform’s bigotry, and build a city that we can be proud to live in.

Frequently Asked Questions

What experience do you have in campaigning for our city?

I've stood up for Bushbury North twice in local elections, in 2022 and 2023 - and have made radio appearances where I fought for our area and our city. I also led a campaign to stop the demolition of the bungalows and saw first-hand the uncaring attitude of the council to the residents of our city.

How can I get involved in the campaign?
